    Re: Mike Hamm Coeburn 91?

Jamie was a great back and if I remember correctly he scored the 2nd Touchdown in CVC/UVA-Wise history. Thought that was pretty cool because he scored his first college touchdown on his home high school field. Not many guys get to say that.

Joe "The Toe" Marshall was also on that team, one of the better kickers to play in the LPD.

Yeah I mentioned him, the best kicker I've ever seen in highschool football around here.

Hamm was a good ball player (I played against him in 90 he came into the game with a 200 yard a game Avg but we held him to 50 yards (unfortunately 10 of those yards were in OT LOL) IMHO the best back to come out of Coeburn was Jeff Willams that kid was dang good

Biggamesjames was on the team that knocked Hamms 91 team out of the playoffs.

IMHO the best back in the district in 90 was a kid from Kelly (Can't remember his name) indaindad may remember who I am talking about

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought Sam Daniels was pretty dang good in '90. Chad Bishop wasn't that bad either. Hamm was definitely the top back in SWVA in '91 though.

Daniels had a ton of speed but if he could not get the corner he could not redirect well.

Bishop was solid but the PV O was all about Duncan/Robbins and Stidaham I don't think to many teams went into that game thinking they had to shut down Bishop (IMHO the 90 PV team was the best Highschool team I have seen at least from 1980 to present)

Yeah they were tough. I would say '90 PV, '92 Richlands, '95 PV and '03 GC were all pretty close. This years Richlands team would probably belong in that group as well.

True I had not added them yet since there year is not over BUT IMHO I think that PV 98 was better than PV 95
